Summary

The VA Boston Healthcare System is seeking a full time Physical Therapist Assistant position available in the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Service. This position will be utilized at the Brockton Campus, Community Living Center.

Responsibilities

The Physical Therapist Assistant will be independent with managing a caseload assigned by the Physical Therapist. This could include the areas of long term care, short term subacute rehabilitation, respite, hospice and palliative care. The therapist will be expected to have recent experience treating adult/older adult patients with a variety of medical conditions, both simple and complex. The duties include but are not limited to: Conduct individual or group physical therapy treatment interventions as directed by the Supervising Physical Therapist and outlined in the plan of care, assist the Physical Therapist in identifying or modifying short-term goals, long-term goals and treatment plan, recognize contraindications and appropriateness of treatment prescribed by referring provider; provide timely and accurate written documentation of patient status, progress with therapy, therapy plan, and patient response to treatment in accordance with policy; interact professionally and courteously with all VA staff, patients, and patients' families/caregivers, and managing caseload at a productive standard.

Work Schedule: Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
